Development of Stage Two
Plans for the development of Tannum Waters Stage Two were lodged with Gladstone Regional Council mid-December 2007. Stage Two will comprise a further 115 lots of vacant land at prices similar to those in Stage One. Council approval is pending.

A residential land auction took place at Tannum Sands on 11 July 2008 of 16 new allotments in Pryde Street , Tannum Sands.
The land was developed by the Gladstone Regional Council and auctioned by PRD Realty, Tannum Sands. The land for sale includes basic services.
The allotments offered varied in size from 712 - 952 m2:
12 x lots measured between 712 - 748m2
3 x lots measured 902m2
1 x lot measured 952m2.
There was bidding for 12 lots but no sales went under the hammer. The highest bid was $225,000 for a 725m2 allotment .
The median price of residential land sales in Tannum Sands for June 2008 was $252,000.

Property Investment Outlook 2009
The medium-to-long term investment outlook for property owners in Queensland remains strong despite the general economic slowdown and tightening up of lending practices by financial institutions.
BIS Shrapnel chief economist Frank Gelber predicts rents will increase 8 per cent a year for the next three years and house prices will rise 30 to 40 per cent over five years.
Queensland Community Housing Coalition executive director Mike Myers commented recently that Queensland residential rents have risen by up to 14 per cent in during 2007/2008, with more rises expected.
